07/31/2008 - Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Restricted free agent Luol Deng has re-signed with the Chicago Bulls, inking a six-year contract.

"Signing Luol has always been a priority for this organization and we have always felt that he was a big part of our future. We are very happy that Luol will now be with us long term as we continue to grow as an organization," said Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the deal is worth $71 million, with incentives that could increase the total value of the contract to $80 million. The Duke product had turned down an offer at the start of last season valued at five years and $50 million.

"It's the responsibility that I'm looking forward to, on the court and off the court," Deng said. "I take basketball very seriously and this is something I look forward to."

Deng, 23, averaged 17.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. In four years in the NBA, all with Chicago, Deng has averaged 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 284 contests.

The 6-foot-9 forward was selected seventh overall by Phoenix in the 2004 draft after one season with the Blue Devils, and was traded to Chicago.
